Accra, Nov. 28, GNA - Mr Mike Cooke, the Chairman of 4Stye Television, a private TV station, on Wednesday advised students of the African University

College of Communication (AUCC) to prepare themselves for the evolution in the digital space and exploit the opportunities available.

Speaking at the opening of the Industry Institute Interface, organised by the Ama Arthur Aidoo Learning Centre of the AUCC, Mr Cooke entreated students to be creative in their chosen careers after school as it will serve as a means of employment.

"The space is gradually evolving and people are now getting things on demand, especially news items,'' he said.

Mr Cooke stated that happenings in advanced countries clearly showed what the future held for Ghana and advised the student to acquire the skills and competences that will match the digital age.

"You should be able to create your own content and platforms in the forthcoming digital age and I urge you to also specialise in respective fields in journalism in order to be competitive and gain the necessary advantage,'' he said.

Mr Cooke said the students must establish good relationship with their mentors or experienced persons in the media as it would facilitate their progress and the identification of their talents.

The four-day programme will enable experienced media practitioners to interact with the students to help them build a career upon completion.
